Argentina’s FIFA World Cup-winning sensation Lionel Messi has ordered gold iPhones for every member of his team and support staff who participated in the historic victory over France in the Qatar 2022 final.
According to The Sun, the 24-carat gadgets, valued at £175,000, are etched with the players’ names, numbers, and the Argentina insignia. On Saturday, Messi had them delivered to his Paris residence.
The Sun quoted their source as saying: “Lionel wanted to do something special and blingy to celebrate his proudest moment. He got in touch with entrepreneur Ben Lyons and they came up with the design together.
“Lionel is not only the Goat, but he’s one of iDESIGN GOLD’s most loyal customers and got in touch with us a couple of months after the World Cup final,” said Ben, CEO of iDesign Gold. He stated that he wanted a special gift for all of the players and staff to commemorate the incredible accomplishment, but he did not want the typical gift of watches.
“So, I suggested gold iPhones inscribed with their names and he loved the idea.”
Argentina won their third World Cup, defeating France 4-2 on penalties, and captain Lionel Messi received his first world cup trophy.
