Bronny James, LeBron James’ son, suffered a cardiac arrest Monday during basketball practice at the University of Southern California.
According to a spokeswoman for the James family, the 18-year-old athlete was rushed to a hospital and treated in the intensive care unit before being released to general care.
“Yesterday while practicing Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest. The medical staff was able to treat Bronny and take him to the hospital. He is now in stable condition and no longer in ICU,” the rep’s statement read.
“We ask for respect and privacy for the James family, and we will update the media when there is more information.”
The statement concludes with LeBron and his wife, Savannah James, thanking USC medical and athletic staff for their “incredible work and dedication” to the safety of their athletes.
