Jean Todt is a former rally co-driver and French motorsport executive. He is considered to be Schumacher’s closest family friend. After suffering a severe brain injury in a skiing mishap in the French Alps in December 2013, Michael is recovering behind closed doors. Unfortunately, Schumacher’s medical state is still unknown.
Todt has provided once in a blue moon health update on Michael Schumacher. The 76-year-old provided more details about Schumacher’s status on Wednesday. Todt denied that he missed the former Ferrari star in an interview with German television station NTV. He, furthermore informed that the F1 legend was fine enough to keep up with the latest game season.
“I don’t miss Michael. I can see him. But of course, what I miss is what we used to do together. Yes, it’s true – I watch the races with Michael,” Todt said. “If it was emotional for you, you can imagine how emotional it was for me [collecting the award]. Emotional, but at the same time great pride to be able to talk about Michael. You have people around you who are just special. And in a way, Michael is also very special. Corinna, Mick and Gina have also become special to me. They have all become family to me, to my wife and to my son,” he added.

On December 29, 2013, Michael Schumacher suffered a horrific, life-changing accident, while skiing with his son. Even though he was using a ski helmet, he crashed and struck his head on a rock as he crossed an off-piste area. After sustaining what was labelled a “traumatic brain injury,” he was placed into a medically induced coma. In June 2014, he was taken out of a coma and was advised to go home for recovery. Ever since then, there is barely any update regarding how he is and what he is going through.
Schumacher made his Formula One debut at the Belgian Grand Prix in 1991, He entered the sport at a time when superstars like Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost dominated the circuits. Nonetheless, he still succeeded to make an enduring and long-lasting impression in the game.
