The lone foreign player in the top five most expensive buys at the IPL 2022 auction is England’s big-hitter Liam Livingstone (Rs.11.50 crore), Punjab Kings bought him.

DC: The Delhi Capitals appeared to be the auction’s most astute buyers. They not only obtained players at a lower cost, but they also ensured that the costs of other teams were inflated. Shardul Thakur at INR 10.75 crore, was their most expensive purchase at the auction. They were able to get some extremely fascinating players for a good price. David Warner at 6.25 crores, Mitchell Marsh is at 6.5 crores, Kuldeep Yadav (2 crores), and Mustafizur Rahman (2 crores).

GT: The Gujarat Titans, one of the two new clubs at the Auction, did a great job overall, but they are still not a fully loaded roster. It’s hard to believe, but they paid INR 9 crores for Rahul Tewatia, Nonetheless, Lockie Ferguson, Mohammed Shami, David Miller, and Jason Roy were among the notable names. However, the team is short in Indian batsmen, which may be a problem.

MI: The Mumbai Indians may have assembled a roster of 25, but it is a question of quantity over quality. MI had only one good buy till the first part of the Auction on Day 2, and that was Ishan Kishan for INR 15.25 Cr, the most expensive buy in the Auction. Except for him, all of their Indian purchases have been duds. The second positive thing MI accomplished at the auction was to secure Jofra Archer as an investment from next year forward for INR 8 crore.
