The IPL mega auctions have finally ended and now, we have the full list of all the 10 teams. While some big names went unsold, others made a fortune. Nonetheless, the auction was a great success. Here’s a complete list of players.
Who were the most expensive buys?
Ishan Kishan bagged a sum of Rs.15.25 crores from Mumbai Indians. While the other most expensive buys include CSK going all in to buy Deepak Chahar back for Rs. 14 crores. Shreyas Iyer for Rs 12.25 crore was secured by KKR. The lone foreign player in the top five most expensive buys at the IPL 2022 auction is England’s big-hitter Liam Livingstone (Rs.11.50 crore), Punjab Kings bought him.
IPL Mega Auction: How all the teams look like now?
CSK: At the auction, CSK acquired a total of 21 players. Deepak Chahar, at INR 14 crore, was their most costly acquisition. They kept most of their core, but lost several key players including Faf du Plessis and Shardul Thakur. Dwaine Pretorious, Adam Milne, Devon Conway, Shivam Dube, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, and Chris Jordan are some of the more interesting additions.

DC: The Delhi Capitals appeared to be the auction’s most astute buyers. They not only obtained players at a lower cost, but they also ensured that the costs of other teams were inflated. Shardul Thakur at INR 10.75 crore, was their most expensive purchase at the auction. They were able to get some extremely fascinating players for a good price. David Warner at 6.25 crores, Mitchell Marsh is at 6.5 crores, Kuldeep Yadav (2 crores), and Mustafizur Rahman (2 crores).

GT: The Gujarat Titans, one of the two new clubs at the Auction, did a great job overall, but they are still not a fully loaded roster. It’s hard to believe, but they paid INR 9 crores for Rahul Tewatia, Nonetheless, Lockie Ferguson, Mohammed Shami, David Miller, and Jason Roy were among the notable names. However, the team is short in Indian batsmen, which may be a problem.

KKR: The Kolkata Knight Riders had 25 players on their roster. Their primary problem was finding a captain, which they may have solved by hiring Shreyas Iyer for INR 12.25 crore. While Pat Cummins was a bargain at 7.25 crores, KKR paid substantially on Nitish Rana and Shivam Mavi at 8 crores and 7.25 crores, respectively. Their goal was to recruit as many all-rounders as possible, and they were successful in doing so. Avesh Khan, who cost 10 crores, was their most expensive purchase at the auction. Quinton de Kock was also a solid bargain purchase for the squad, costing INR 6.75 crore.

MI: The Mumbai Indians may have assembled a roster of 25, but it is a question of quantity over quality. MI had only one good buy till the first part of the Auction on Day 2, and that was Ishan Kishan for INR 15.25 Cr, the most expensive buy in the Auction. Except for him, all of their Indian purchases have been duds. The second positive thing MI accomplished at the auction was to secure Jofra Archer as an investment from next year forward for INR 8 crore.

PBKS: Another team who wowed the crowd at the Auction. PBKS’ roster is not only fully loaded with 25 players, but it is also of high quality. Liam Livingstone, who cost INR 11.5 crore, is their most expensive acquisition. In addition, they acquired Shikhar Dhawan, Odean Smith, Jonny Bairstow, Kagiso Rabada, and Rahul Chahar, all of whom are of very high calibre.

RR: Overall, the Rajasthan Royals performed a good job. Their goal was to assemble a strong first-team lineup, and they succeeded. Prasidh Krishna was RR’s most costly purchase in the auction, costing 10 crore rupees. Except for him, all of their purchases were reasonable.
