After trashing the islanders 3-0 in the T20Is, the men in blue are ready to take on the opposition in the longest format of the game. Team India will play their first home Test this year, it will be against Sri Lanka. Mohali will host the first Test of Ind vs SL series. What makes the game special is that it will be Virat Kohli’s 100th Test game. Team India has a magnificent record of dominating at home. It’ll be interesting to see if the new skipper, Rohit Sharma will be able to pick up from the former skipper Virat Kohli left.

Since August 2015, Sri Lanka has not beaten India in the sport’s longest format. The Indian team has an 11-0 record in Test matches hosted by India. On nine occasions, Sri Lanka has held India to a draw, but theyare yet to win a Test match in India.

Pitch Report: 

The first test will be held at the PCA Stadium in Mohali on March 4, 2022. On this ground, a total of 13 tests have been played. India has won seven of the 13 games, lost one, and drew five others. The pitch at Mohali helps the pacers in the early overs, but as the game progresses, it favours the spinners. It’s an Indian-style wicket. It’ll be good to win the toss and bat first.
