India will meet Pakistan in the ICC ODI WC 2023 in Ahmedabad on October 15, with England vs. New Zealand set to start off the quadrennial competition on October 5. According to the draft published by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), India, the host country for the ODI World Cup, will begin its campaign against Australia on October 8.
ESPNCricinfo said that the BCCI shared the draft calendar with the ICC, who then forwarded it to the rest of the countries for review before the final schedule is released. According to the rumor, the World Cup schedule will be confirmed as soon as next week.
As per the report, India will play their matches across nine venues during the league phase, and here’s their itinerary:

Unprecedented delay in releasing the schedule
Notably, there has never been such a delay in announcing the schedule for the premier competition. The previous two events were publicized a year in advance. On May 27, BCCI secretary Jay Shah stated that the schedule would be released at the World Test Championship (WTC) Final. On the first day of the WTC Final, ICC CEO Geoff Allardice claimed on BBC’s Test Match Special that the schedule will be announced “anytime soon.” Nonetheless, the schedule seems all but certain now with the draft being out.
Pakistan will play in five different cities
Aside from their match against India, Pakistan will face two qualifying teams in Hyderabad on October 6 and 12 before meeting Australia in Bengaluru on October 20. Pakistan, which had threatened to boycott the Asia Cup due to the country’s hosting, will then face Afghanistan and South Africa in Chennai on October 23 and 27, respectively. Pakistan’s final three matches against Bangladesh, New Zealand, and England will be played in Kolkata on October 31, Bengaluru on November 5, and Kolkata again on November 12.
