Anshul Jubli, a Delhi-born MMA fighter, made history on Sunday by becoming only the second Indian after Bharat Khandare to sign a UFC contract. Anshul won the Road to UFC competition by defeating Indonesia’s Jeka Saragih in round 2 of the lightweight division via technical knockout in 3 minutes and 44 seconds. Jubli is currently 7-0 as a professional and on track to reach greater heights in the UFC in the future.

Anshul Jubli landed early punches and established authority in two-round of the fight

Anshul landed early punches and attempted to establish his authority in the high-octane two-round fight. The first round began with Jeka mocking him by making funny faces, which irritated the Indian, who immediately attacked his opponent by grabbing him and punching him in the face. Jeka worked hard to get out of the situation, but his attempts were futile. Despite escaping the submission with more than 40 seconds remaining in the first round, he came short of earning the advantage over Anshul and thus lost the initial round.

Jeka adopted an attacking strategy in the second round, which proved decisive in this fight

The Indonesian adopted an attacking strategy in the second round, which proved decisive in this fight. He found himself fighting to escape the grip after hitting early punches since Anshul had previously acquired an advantage over him. He utilized his knees to take Jeka down before employing the same approach of landing frequent punches. The battle was called off by the referee, and Anshul was crowned the winner of the UFC competition.

Anshul remarked in a post-match interview that the Indians deserved to be in the UFC and that he wants to keep grinding and getting stronger.

According to the Hindustan Times, Anshul claimed after his great win, “I’ve dominated this fight, that’s why I’m here. Why do Indian fighters deserve to win the UFC? I’m going to keep evolving, I want to keep grinding, and my plan is to be the best in the world and I’ll do whatever needs to be done.”

Meanwhile, Anshul Jubli has signed with Paradigm Sports Management, the same business that represents two of the greatest UFC fighters, Conor McGregor and Israel Adesanya.
