The Women’s Premier League (WPL)’s season concluded on March 26th, 2023, with Mumbai Indians Women (MIW) defeating Delhi Capitals Women to claim the title of champions. Harmanpreet Kaur led her Mumbai Indians to triumph in an entertaining final that came down to the wire.

Earlier in the game, Delhi Capitals batted first and could only muster 131 runs in 20 overs. Mumbai’s spinners never let Delhi gain control of their batting from the start. Issy Wong and Hayley Matthews were the standout bowlers, both claiming three wickets. Meanwhile, Amelie Kerr returned with two wickets.

Meg Lanning, the skipper of Delhi, struck 35 runs in 29 deliveries before being run out in an unfortunate mix-up with Jess Jonassan. Sikha Pandey and Radha Yadav contributed 52 runs in 24 deliveries toward the end of the innings.

In reaction to a poor total, Mumbai also lost both of its openers early with a score of 23 runs. All-rounder Nat Sciver Brunt and captain Harmanpreet Kaur came in and delivered a rescue inning to help Mumbai Indian win. Nat Sciver Brunt of England stayed unbeaten on 60 runs from 55 deliveries, while Harmanpreet Kaur hit 37 runs off 39 deliveries before being run out.

Amelie Kerr put the icing on the cake by scoring 14 runs in eight deliveries. Mumbai won the inaugural season of the WPL with three deliveries to spare, chasing down the score with seven wickets in hand. The following is a complete list of WPL 2023 Winner Prize Money, Awards, Stats, and Records.
