ICC Test Rankings: Jasprit Bumrah makes entry into top 10

Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah has made an entry into the top-10 after his match haul of nine for 110 in the Nottingham Test, while skipper Virat Kohli slipped to the fifth position in the latest ICC Test player rankings.

Jasprit Bumrah is currently placed at ninth position with 760 rating points. He gained 77 points after the first Test against England at Trent Bridge. Bumrah shined both with bat and ball in the first test against England. He picked 4/46 in the first innings, 5/64 in the second innings, and also played a handy knock with the bat scoring 28 off 34 balls.

Shardul Thakur moves up 19 places to 55th, while England seam bowlers James Anderson climbed one spot to seventh and Ollie Robinson moves up 22 places to 46th position in the latest ICC Test bowling rankings.

ICC Test Rankings – Batting

Among the batters, Kane Williamson continued to stay at the top with 901 points, followed by Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne. England captain Joe Root has moved up at the 4th position overtaking Virat Kohli. Joe Root smashed a magnificent hundred in the first test against India. He gained 49 rating points and was named player of the match for his excellent performance with the bat.

Indian opener Rohit Sharma and wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant were static at the sixth and seventh spots respectively. Ravindra Jadeja moved up three slots to 36th after his first-innings half-century. KL Rahul has re-entered the rankings in 56th position with scores of 84 and 26 in the first test against England.

All Rounders

Ravindra Jadeja moved to a second position in the Test all-rounder ranking list with 370 rating points. Ben Stokes is placed at the 3rd with 370 points. Ashwin continued to stay in fourth place in the all-rounder’s list.

ICC T20I Rankings

Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan has regained the top spot among all-rounders. Al Hasan last reached that position in October 2017. Captain Mahmudullah has gained two slots and is now in the 33rd position. Fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman is back in the top 10, gaining 20 slots after taking five wickets in four matches.

Among the batters, David Malan continues to stay at the top. Australia all-rounder Mitchell Marsh who has been in great form for the last two series has gained four slots. He is placed at 21st position among T20I batters, after scoring 111 runs in the last four matches of the five-match series in Bangladesh.

Among the bowlers, Tabraiz Shamsi is at the top with 792 rating points. Australia’s Ashton Agar has gained one slot to reach seventh place while fast bowler Josh Hazlewood is up 43 places to 34th position.
