Cricket was only played at the Olympics once, in Paris in 1900, when England and France competed for the gold medal. However, for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, there will be a women’s and men’s competition that might tap into the lucrative Asian subcontinent commercial market.

According to two persons familiar with the Los Angeles organizing committee’s proposal, the group delivered its proposal to the International Olympic Committee on Monday, setting it up for a vote later this month at the IOC’s conference in Mumbai, India.
