Cadet World Championship

India created history at the Cadet World Championship as the young wrestlers Tannu and Priya became the world champions. It was a complete India show throughout the tournament, across categories.

Tannu and Priya’s dominance at Cadet World Championship

Tannu struggled at the start, but when she got the momentum then it was just complete dominance by her. She did not concede a single point en route to the 43kg title against Valeryia Mikitsich.  It was the third victory by fall in four bouts for Tannu. On the other hand, Priya grabbed the 73kg title with a 5-0 win over Belarus’ Kseniya Patapovich.

Varsha won the bronze medal in the 65kg category

Varsha won the bronze medal in the 65kg category with a win by fall beating Duygu Gen of Turkey. 

Aman Gulia and Sagar Jaglan secured the titles in Men’s freestyle competition

Earlier in the tournament, Aman Gulia (48kg) and Sagar Jaglan (80kg) clinched the titles in the men’s freestyle competition. And took India to the Team championship title for the first time in history.
