BCCI reveals India's exciting domestic calendar, with the Australia Tests beginning on February 9

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed India’s action-packed home schedule for early 2023 on Thursday, December 8. Following India’s current tour of Bangladesh, the Rohit Sharma-led team will host white-ball matches against Sri Lanka and New Zealand before hosting Australia for a four-match Test series (the Border-Gavaskar Trophy), followed by a three-match ODI series before the 2023 IPL. The first visitors in the upcoming year will be from Sri Lanka, then the Kiwis, with the eagerly anticipated India-Australia rivalry starting up after that.

Therefore, the senior men’s cricket squad will have no trouble finding matches to play in the first quarter of 2023. They will play six ODIs against Sri Lanka and New Zealand to get ready for the 2023 ODI World Cup, which will be staged in India later in the year. They will try to defeat the Pat Cummins-led Australians in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which consists of four matches, before hosting them for three ODIs prior to the following IPL.

Headed by Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid India is currently dealing with a number of injury-related issues. As the team prepares for the ODI World Cup next year, they have a lot on the table. With a disastrous Asia Cup, a T20 World Cup semifinal exit, a single Test loss to hosts England, a dismal tour of South Africa, and now an ODI series loss to Bangladesh, India’s 2022 campaign hasn’t been great. As a result, they will be hoping for a memorable start to 2023 with some major series planned.
