Australia maintained its supremacy at the Commonwealth Games. A total of 65 medals, including 25 gold, 21 silver, and 19 bronze, were brought home by the Australian swimming team after six days of competition.

The 28-year-old swimmer Emma McKeon bagged more medals than 56 nations/territories at CWG 2022. She bagged one bronze, one silver, and six gold medals across various swimming events at the Games. Out of the 72 countries/territories that took part in CWG 2022, only 16 won eight or more medals.
Australia won the most medals overall (178), with 67 gold, 57 silver, and 54 bronze. On the second-to-last day of the Birmingham 2022 CWG, they also made history by being the first nation to win 1,000 gold medals overall.
With 176 medals in all, including 57 gold, 66 silver, and 53 bronze, England ended their CWG 2022 campaign as second on the list. Canada came in third place with a total of 92 medals, exactly behind the host country. With a score of 61, India came in fourth, and New Zealand took fifth place with a score of 49. The Commonwealth Games began on July 28 and ended on August 8.
