The newly appointed Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) chief Azizullah Fazli said that he is planning to visit Pakistan later this week and invite them for an ODI series.
As reported by AFP news agency, ACB chief Fazli said: “I will meet new Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ramiz Raja and will offer to host Pakistan for the ODI series which we were due to play in Sri Lanka in September.”
“I am taking a tour of Pakistan from September 25. And then will go to India, Bangladesh, and the UAE to meet officials of cricket boards. We are seeking to improve Afghanistan cricket and that will come with cooperation from other countries,” he added
The three-match one-day series between Pakistan and Afghanistan was cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak in Sri Lanka. It was part of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Super League series. The two teams will now meet in ICC T20 World Cup on October 29 in Dubai.
Cricket West Indies, PCB hold security talks ahead of Pakistan tour
Cricket West Indies (CWI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) are working on security arrangements ahead of the proposed West Indies tour of Pakistan in December. The WI team is expected to play three ODIs and three T20Is in Pakistan.
“We’ll speak to our Independent Security Consultants, ESI, who we used back in 2018 when we went to Pakistan. We’ve had an initial meeting with WIPA too about it. And we’re going to follow the same process, that we have done in the past,” said CWI CEO Johnny Grave said in an interview.
