Actress Anushka Sharma is outraged after a video of her husband Virat Kohli’s hotel room was leaked online. A video taken from a hotel room when Virat is attending the T20 World Cup in Australia shows a man in a suit touring the room and displaying his possessions to the camera. Virat and Anushka took this invasion of their privacy very seriously.
Anushka posted a screenshot of the video along with the caption, “Have experienced a few incidents where some fans have shown no compassion or grace in the past but this really is the worst thing. An absolute disgrace and violation of a human being and anyone who sees this and thinks celebrity ‘ho toh deal Karna padega'(If you are a celebrity then you will have to deal with this) should know that you are also part of the problem. Exercising some self-control helps everyone. Also, if this is happening in your bedroom then where is the line?”
Many people urged the paparazzi who posted the identical video on social media to remove it since it was unfair to Virat and Anushka. One person wrote, “This is really cheap behavior.” Many advised the couple to take the hotel to court. Another individual commented, “It is quite awful to invade someone’s privacy, whether they are celebrities or regular people.”
Virat took to Instagram
Virat wrote in a caption beside the video that he published on Instagram, “I understand that fans get very happy and excited seeing their favorite players and get excited to meet them and I’ve always appreciated that. But this video here is appalling and it’s made me feel very paranoid about my privacy. If I cannot have privacy in my own hotel room, then where can I really expect any personal space at all?? I’m NOT okay with this kind of fanaticism and absolute invasion of privacy. Please respect people’s privacy and not treat them as a commodity for entertainment.”
The couple has always taken great care to protect their privacy, particularly that of their young daughter Vamika. They have repeatedly asked the media to refrain from revealing her face to the public and refuse to do so.
