The 2021 summer transfer window is currently underway and many clubs have signed some top-class players so far. So, let’s look at the five most expensive transfers that have taken place so far.
1. Jadon Sancho (Borussia Dortmund to Manchester United)
Jadon Sancho is the most expensive transfer so far. Manchester United hasn’t made the deal official yet, but according to the reports, only formalities are remaining. The England striker has been on the Red Devils transfer list since last summer and he finally made it this year.
Sancho has been in top form. He scored 50 goals in 137 appearances for Dortmund since 2017. He has played just one match at Euro 2020 against Ukraine and was good with his passing and playmaking.
Currently, Jadon remains the most expensive transfer, costing twice what Bayern Munich paid for Dayot Upamecano.

2. Dayot Upamecano (RB Leipzig to Bayern Munich) – €42.5m
Bayern Munich announced an agreement for the signing of Dayot Upamecano on a five-year deal in Feb 2021. Regarded as one of the best young defenders in the world, Dayot signed a deal of €42.5m with Bayern Munich. The 22-year-old was in flying form, produced many match-winning performances at RB Leipzig and he will look to continue the same form here too.
3. Ibrahima Konate (RB Leipzig to Liverpool) – €40m
Another 22-year-old young defender from Leipzig, who was in top form has signed a deal with Liverpool. Ibrahima Konate has made 21 appearances for Leipzig this season. (Xanax) Konate played a big role in RP Leipzig’s campaign this year who finished second, 13 points behind champions Bayern Munich.

4. Emiliano Buendia (Norwich City to Aston Villa) – €38.4m
Aston Villa announced an agreement for the signing of Emiliano Buendia in June 2021. Buendia has experience playing in the premier league. Although he was not in great touch during 2019-20, he has the skill and talent to perform on the big stage.
Currently, Buendia is on international duty with Argentina. He was called for the senior national team for the first time. Buendia became Aston Villa’s record signing after they paid Norwich City €38.4million for his services.
5. Patson Daka (RB Salzburg to Leicester City) – €30m
Leicester City announced an agreement for the signing of Patson Daka for a five-year contract, with the fee thought to be around £23m. The 22-year-old had some memorable games with Salzburg, and he can turn out to be a great player in Leicester’s attack.
Daka was named Player of the Season after scoring 27 goals in 28 games for RB Salzburg. He scored 34 goals in 42 appearances in all competitions last season.
