The Sanskrit & Ayurveda: Discover the Ancient Language of Yoga and Wellness

The Sanskrit & Ayurveda.

Sanskrit scientific literature is a veritable treasure trove of information. There are pearls of knowledge in the four Vedas, inclusive of Ayurveda, boundless and incomparable. The discovery of ancient Ayurvedic formulas, suggestions, and medicines has been written in pure Sanskrit.

Sanskrit or Samskrita means something that is highly processed. This may come as an incredulity to you, but modern computer scientists say that Sanskrit is the most effectual and precise language for writing computer programs. The reason why this has been found true? It’s because of how concise and precise Sanskrit is as a language.

Sutras.

When translated into other languages, a sutra, a non-metered aphorism with only a few words or lines in Sanskrit can run into several pages. An example: KU VAIDYA: NRIPA DOSHADA:

Translates into: “fake and fraud doctors arise because of the incompetence of king (ruler).”

Learning Sanskrit is a way to learn about the ancient world and understand how people thought long ago says the prominent academician and musicologist, Venkatarama Raghavan who has been internationally recognized for his contribution to Indology and Sanskrit literature. According to him, learning Sanskrit is a doorway to the most valuable gems in human history. These gems of knowledge are written in this highly processed language, mostly poetic. Therefore, for a total indebtedness of Ayurveda, one must acquire basic knowledge of Sanskrit.

Although Ayurveda knowledge is now accessible in Malayalam and English languages, any form of Ayurvedic knowledge is a direct or indirect translation from Sanskrit. Learning this most unique language on the face of the earth never goes in vain.

Apart from Ayurveda, you can find in Sanskrit a profusion of literature in poetic plays from different poets of yesteryears. Many treatises on specific subjects, such a Panini’s Aṣhṭadhyayi on grammar written in Sutra form, Vatsyayana’s Kamasutra on human sexuality, Bhoja’s Sringara Prakasa on aesthetics, and others. In fact, you can find many literary transcripts like Vedas, Puranas, Upanishads, and so forth.

By Sanskrit literature, it is accentuated that they refer to ancient scripts written eras ago. Erudition of Sanskrit and Ayurveda goes hand in hand – it’s like exploring the best of both worlds for the nourishment, enrichment, vitality, and ampleness of life. They will touch you not only at a bodily or mental level but also in a metaphysical way that is beyond describing in words.
