West Suburban Sports Complex has announced the opening of registrations for their Illinois Star youth basketball spring tryouts. Slated to start on February 19th, 2023, tryouts will be conducted by professional coaches in the fully equipped basketball courts of the West Suburban Sports Complex. Youth basketball players participating in the upcoming tryouts get the opportunity to join one of the top teams in the Chicago youth basketball leagues.
Participants appearing for tryouts can register in separate groups, which are divided based on grade levels. The boys’ tryout sessions are divided into two groups: one for players in grades 2 through 7 and another for players in grades 8 through 11. The tryouts for girls will be conducted in one group for all grades, from 2nd to 11th. The tryouts are scheduled in two separate sessions for all groups. The first tryouts will be conducted on February 19th and the second on February 26th, 2023. The registration charges for all sessions are $25, and entry spots are available in all sessions but on a first come basis. Players who succeed will be able to participate in the Illinois Stars’ spring season, which has scheduled practices for March 13th. The upcoming season so far has ten events scheduled, and players will be playing in Prep Hoops, NY2LA, Recruit Look, and many more national and local events. Further details about the spring season are also shared on the West Suburban Sports Complex website.

A representative for the sports complex stated: “Illinois Stars is one of our top initiatives, which is why we have decided to conduct the tryouts in three separate groups. These groups are classified according to grade level. The two groups for boys’ teams are for grades 2nd to 7th and grades 8th to 11th, and the girls’ tryouts are open to all players from grades 2nd to 11th. All the sessions will be conducted under the supervision of professional coaches, who will ensure that each player is given a fair chance to show off their skills. Successful participants will get the opportunity to become a part of the Illinois Stars team. The upcoming spring season for the Illinois Stars team features multiple events and practice sessions with professional coaches.”
He added, “Players who want to take advantage of the opportunity to play for national teams and stand out in the eyes of recruiters for high schools and colleges should not pass up the opportunity to participate in the tryouts. It is also an excellent opportunity for young players to demonstrate sportsmanship and skill.”
