US Army veteran becomes world’s most tattooed woman with 99.98% coverage, including eyelids, eyeballs, gums, and tongue

Esperance Fuerzina’s Decade-Long Journey to Ink Mastery

An army veteran from Bridgeport, Connecticut, has clinched the title of the world’s most tattooed woman, covering an astonishing 99.98% of her body in ink—and she’s not stopping there.

Esperance Fuerzina, 36, has been officially declared the most tattooed female ever, a journey that started with her first tattoo on her hip at the age of 21. Her body is now a canvas of intricate designs, including tattoos on her eyelids, eyeballs, gums, and tongue.

In addition to her tattoo record, Esperance holds the Guinness World Record for the most body modifications for a female. Her first modification was a ‘tongue split,’ followed by five facial implants, tissue stretching procedures, and an array of piercings on her ears, nipples, labia, and gums. Unique to her look, parts of her ears have also been removed.

Shattering previous records

Her 89 body modifications surpass the previous record held by Maria Jose Cristerna for over a decade by 40 modifications. Esperance’s body is a living testament to her experiences and memories.

A nomadic life in ink

“I have had a pretty nomadic life, and not much room in my (army) pack, I felt I could take this with me wherever I go,” said Esperance. Instead of photo albums or diaries, her tattoos serve as a permanent record of her life’s journey.

Esperance describes her tattoos as a way to “turn dark times into light,” helping her to evolve both spiritually and mentally. Each new tattoo represents a chapter in her life, offering her a way to process and remember her experiences.

Over the past decade, Esperance has mastered meditation techniques to mitigate the pain of tattooing. She considers the brief discomfort a small price for “a small moment in time for something I can keep for life.”

While there have been some regrets, such as her first tattoo which she later replaced with a large Phoenix, these experiences have guided her towards her preferred aesthetic—large, cohesive, and smoothly flowing designs.

Facing public scrutiny with grace

Esperance admits that her unique appearance attracts stares and often negative judgments during outdoor excursions. However, she handles this negativity with wisdom, seeing it as a reflection of external judgment rather than her own worth. She firmly believes that kindness always triumphs.

In response to securing her place in the Guinness World Records, Esperance said, “To be the most tattooed woman and to have the most body modifications feels a little crazy. I am grateful and excited for the future and of course, I am not done!”

Esperance Fuerzina’s journey is far from over, and the world watches with keen interest to see what the future holds for this extraordinary individual.
