The BMV course, stands for ‘boire, manger, vivre.’ It covers a wide range of topics related to food, drinks, and ‘living.’ According to The Telegraph, the course includes ‘gastro-diplomacy,’ food technology, and combating sexism in the kitchen. The one-of-a-kind program has already begun, with lecturer Benôit Lengaigne teaching classes on ‘terrestrial foods.’ Benoit Lengaign believes, “Sciences Po Lille is the great school which poses and confronts contemporary issues thanks to the human and social sciences: this century that you will have known from birth carries and drags the intertwined questions of the trio of drinking, eating and living (BMV).”
As a part of the course, students are required to write essays on topics such as lifestyle, meat alternatives, and the history of farming. Students take on the roles of TV journalists, food critics, and food delivery company executives among other things. They quiz one another on quality and working conditions. Clemence Ricart, a Course Ambassador student, stated that it is the master’s course that brings students together around a common interest.
