A group of women aboard a Carnival Paradise cruise were filmed engaging in a drunken brawl, hurling chairs and punches at each other in a chaotic scene.

Video captures the melee

The incident, recorded by a bemused passenger who was simply seeking a late-night snack, took place in the early hours on the final night of the five-day cruise from the US to Central America. The video, now widely circulated, shows passengers in a dining room throwing chairs, exchanging blows, and piling on top of one another while screaming.

WARNING: THE VIDEO BELOW CONTAINS STRONG LANGUAGE

Nick Richardson, the passenger who filmed the brawl, can be heard in the video exclaiming, “Welcome to the mother fg cruise,” and later, “No, no, not me man,” as the fight moved closer to him.

Witness account

Richardson, a father of three who was on the cruise with his family, recounted the event to the New York Post. “In my opinion, (it was) just a bunch of people on their last night, probably drank too much. Obviously some kind of misunderstanding. They didn’t give a s**t who was watching. They didn’t care. They just kept going,” he said.

Richardson posted the video on YouTube, explaining that he had walked into the dining room around 3 a.m. for a slice of pizza when the fight erupted. In the video, he can be heard attempting to defuse the situation by suggesting, “Let’s all get some pizza.”

Carnival Cruise Line response

A spokesperson for Carnival Cruise Line confirmed the incident to the New York Post, stating that the ship’s security team intervened. The company emphasized that such behavior is against their policy and that the involved guests would not be allowed to sail with them again.

Despite the altercation, Richardson noted that the incident did not ruin the trip for him and his family, who had a fantastic time visiting Honduras and Cozumel.

Previous incidents

This is not the first time a brawl has erupted on a Carnival ship. In 2022, an altercation involving 40-60 passengers broke out on the Carnival Magic during the last night of a Caribbean cruise. That fight reportedly started as an argument on the dance floor, stemming from jealousy over a threesome.
