Madelaine Brockway recently broke the internet when she married Jacob Chase LaGrone in what was dubbed the “wedding of the century.” However, after learning of her husband’s criminal charges, she deleted her TikTok account. Her TikTok account, in addition to providing a glimpse into her life, featured her $56 million wedding in Paris. According to the New York Post, the total cost of their wedding is expected to be $56 million.

What is the significance of this story?

Brockway, a 26-year-old Florida car dealership heiress, went viral last month after a video of her lavish wedding ceremony surfaced online. A rehearsal dinner at the Palais Garnier, an overnight stay at the Palace of Versailles, and a performance by Maroon 5 were among the highlights of the five-day celebration. For the occasion, she wore a Dior Haute couture wedding gown. She also documented her bachelorette weekend at Amangiri, a five-star luxury Utah resort. Brockway’s TikTok account has been deleted, and her Instagram account has been made private.

Brockway’s husband has been charged with assault

Jacob Chase LaGrone, 29, is reportedly facing aggravated assault charges after allegedly shooting at police officers in Texas on March 14. According to the indictment, LaGrone “intentionally and knowingly threatened imminent bodily injury” or “did use or exhibit a deadly weapon during the commission of the assault, namely, a firearm.” According to the New York Times, LaGrone allegedly shot at three officers who were responding to a disturbance call.

LaGrone could be sentenced to life in prison

LaGrone appeared in court last Thursday and could face up to life in prison if convicted. According to NBC News, Brockway did not attend the hearing at Tarrant Country District Court. According to The Independent, if convicted, he could face a prison sentence ranging from five to 99 years. LaGrone was offered a plea deal in August that would sentence him to 25 years in prison in exchange for pleading guilty and foregoing a trial.

Users are astounded by the wedding ceremony

Since Brockway and LaGrone’s wedding, hundreds of thousands of users have flooded their video with comments. According to one TikTok user, the week-long celebration was “the most stunning wedding in the world.” Another described it as the “most beautiful wedding my eyes have ever been blessed to see.” Many other people thought it was the “wedding of the century.”
