The US has approved the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children between the ages of 12 and 15. This became the first vaccine approved for children. The FDA’s action allows the younger population to protect themselves against the disease.
Trial results
Currently, People over 16 years of age can get vaccinated. But, the children will receive it as a combination of two separate shots and a booster. During the trial run of 2,260 participants none of them contracted COVID-19. However, 16 participants who received the placebo tested positive.
