FDA issues serious health warning on Diamond Shruumz microdose chocolate bars

Severe Reactions Reported Across Four States

The FDA has issued a warning after multiple individuals across four states fell ill from consuming Diamond Shruumz-brand microdosing chocolate bars. The reported symptoms include seizures, central nervous system depression, agitation, abnormal heart rates, hyper/hypotension, nausea, and vomiting. Six out of the eight affected individuals required hospitalization.

Investigation and product appeal

The cause of the illnesses is still under investigation. The FDA noted that these chocolate bars, made with a blend of nootropic and functional mushrooms, might appeal to children and teenagers due to their candy-like marketing.

Health advisory

The FDA advises against consuming any flavors of Diamond Shruumz microdosing chocolate bars, which are available both online and in retail locations. Parents and caregivers are urged to discuss this advisory with their children and ensure the product is not consumed by younger individuals.

States affected

The last reported case occurred on June 3. Two victims were from Indiana, one from Nevada, one from Pennsylvania, and four from Arizona. According to the Banner Poison and Drug Information Center in Arizona, some victims had to be intubated due to the severity of their symptoms.

Steve Dudley, director of the Arizona Poison and Drug Information Center, expressed concern over the incidents, stating, “While these products claim to contain only natural ingredients and no scheduled drugs, there is clearly something toxic occurring. We’ve seen individuals eating the chocolate bar then seizing, losing consciousness, and having to be intubated.”

The FDA continues to investigate the cause and urges the public to avoid these products to prevent further incidents.
