Barron Trump is navigating college life at NYU’s Stern School of Business, and gaming has become his primary way to unwind and connect socially. Curious about what titles he’s into? We’ve got some hints.
The youngest son of President Donald Trump, Barron has developed a strong interest in gaming while adjusting to life on campus. Still under the constant watch of Secret Service agents, the 19-year-old uses games as a way to break free from the constraints of his unique college experience.
Barron is a big fan of the GTA series
Barron, who stands at 6-foot-9, is reportedly into FC25 (FIFA) and GTA 5. During a conversation with Twitch streamer Adin Ross, President Trump even mentioned that Barron is also a fan of NBA 2K20.
The Daily Mail noted that Barron previously passed time in school by playing the mobile strategy game Clash of Clans.
Unlike most students who exchange phone numbers, Barron prefers using Discord and Xbox Live to stay in touch with friends.
“He has added it to his repertoire. It’s his communication platform of choice,” a source told Page Six. “If people get the number, they would give it out, and then a million people would be calling nonstop. You’d have to change the number constantly, and it’d become a merry-go-round.”
Barron maintains a low profile at NYU
Despite his enrollment, Barron maintains a low profile at NYU. As TMZ put it, he “hardly exists” on campus, often slipping into class unnoticed with help from his security detail.
During his father’s presidential campaign, Barron reportedly encouraged him to engage with younger voters by appearing on Gen Z- and millennial-focused podcasts. Lara Trump, his sister-in-law, said, “Barron makes us all look so little. He’s really smart and very entertaining; he’s his father’s son.”
“There have been many times I’ve been traveling over the course of the campaign with my father-in-law in the car. Barron will call and say, ‘Dad, I have an idea of how you can get more votes; you need to go to this baseball stadium’ or whatever,” she added.
Melania’s continued influence
While Barron explores his independence at NYU, First Lady Melania Trump continues to stay closely involved in his life. A source told People Magazine, “Melania will keep her hand on Barron’s future as much going forward as she has throughout his early and current school years.”
