Watch GTA 6 trailer: Rockstar Games releases Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer, launch set for 2025

Rockstar Games released the first short trailer for “Grand Theft Auto 6” on Tuesday, the latest entry in the mainline Grand Theft Auto series. GTA 6, billed as the year’s biggest action-adventure game, is the follow-up to 2013’s mega-hit GTA V, which became the second best-selling video game of all time, trailing only Minecraft.

The trailer, which is set in Vice City, the series’ fictional take on Miami, prominently features a female protagonist, Lucia, who appears to go on a crime spree with her partner. While Rockstar Games hasn’t revealed the plot or storyline, the song featured in the trailer is “Long is a Long Road” by Tom Petty.

It’s been ten years since Rockstar Games released Grand Theft Auto 5, and fans have been waiting for a sequel ever since. That game eventually sold 185 million copies.

Grand Theft Auto VI continues our efforts to push the limits of what’s possible in highly immersive, story-driven open-world experiences,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games, in a statement. “We’re thrilled to be able to share this new vision with players everywhere.”

Rockstar Games has officially confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6 has been in the works since early 2022. The GTA 6 trailer’s release coincides with the company’s 25th anniversary.

According to Take-Two, the new GTA 6 game will be available for the Sony PlayStation 5 and the Microsoft Xbox Series X and Series S consoles. Given that the developer made no mention of any other platforms, it appears that GTA 6 will skip PC, at least for the time being.
