Nintendo showed 'Switch 2' demos to developers at Gamescom: Report

While there is still no official news on the ‘Switch 2’s’ whereabouts, Eurogamer and VGC sources have reported that demos for Nintendo’s future system were exhibited at this year’s Gamescom.

According to sources, the Switch successor was shown to chosen developers behind closed doors during the event, allegedly with the former console’s launch title, Breath of the Wild, running on the more powerful specs of the follow-up. Both publications, however, emphasize that there is no indication that the title will be re-released.

According to a second source for VGC, Nintendo demoed Epic’s The Matrix Awakens Unreal Engine 5 demo on the ‘Switch 2’ — the project that was previously meant to highlight the capability of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in 2021.

According to the VGC report, the console demo’s visuals were similar to Sony and Microsoft’s current-gen offerings, and it used Nvidia’s DLSS upscaling technology with advanced ray tracing enabled.

Aside from that, we still don’t know much about the console’s design. According to VGC sources, the demoed technology may be utilized in a handheld manner similar to the present Switch, albeit this seems obvious at this time. (daveseminara.com)

For the time being, Nintendo has not announced anything regarding its next console, though the most recent rumor stated that it would be released in late 2024 – only time will tell.
