Remnant 2 introduces new weapons as well as returning fan favorites from the first game. The Hellfire, a handgun formerly obtained by fighting the Root Dragon on Earth, is one such returning weapon. This time, though, players can expect an altogether new version of this pistol as well as a whole new acquisition process.
In contrast to the original game, the Hellfire in Remnant 2 is only available in campaign mode, and players must fight their way through all three planets before they can earn it. Here’s where you can locate it.
Remnant 2: Hellfire location
The Hellfire can be located in a blazing crater on the Root-consumed version of Earth, which is only accessible when the main bosses in N’Erud, Losomn, and Yaesha have been defeated. This crater is located in the very first area, close to the wrecked freeway.
Begin near the checkpoint at the top of the freeway. Run down the hollow root to the car-filled main street. Deal with the horde of little Root monsters and look for a massive truck sticking off the ground on the right side. The mantle over the rubble, and the Hellfire should be beneath the shipping container in the crater. This location is easy to overlook at first, but happily, there are no extra gimmicks involved in this secret.
When players fire this weapon, they will see that it is no longer an SMG, as it was in Remnant: From The Ashes. Instead, it’s a full-fledged flamethrower with a built-in Mod that acts as a grenade launcher. The Hellfire now stays true to its name by dealing just Fire damage and inflicting Burning on whatever it’s pointed at.
One of Hellfire’s biggest disadvantages in Remnant 2 is its limited range. Its flames may only travel eight meters before fading, rendering it worthless against some bosses and awkward against ranged opponents.
On the other hand, the sheer devastating power of this weapon compensates for its frailty. Players may munch through hordes of opponents in close range without breaking a sweat thanks to equipment like the Talisman of the Sun, Fire Stone, and everything else that interacts with negative status effects. Hellfire may be utilized to replace the Enigma in terms of AOE damage, and it is a viable alternative to Nebula with its acid-focused strikes.
