Grand Theft Auto VI to be announced this week; Here's all you need to know

According to people familiar with the company’s intentions, Rockstar Games, a division of Take-Two Interactive Software Inc., expects to announce the next highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto game as early as this week. According to the insiders who asked not to be identified because they were not permitted to speak publicly, the studio plans to release a trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI next month to commemorate Rockstar’s 25th anniversary. A Rockstar spokeswoman did not immediately respond to a request for comment given after work hours.

No video game has sparked more excitement among fans and investors than Grand Theft Auto VI

No video game has sparked more excitement among fans and investors than Grand Theft Auto VI, which is projected to be one of the decade’s most major entertainment releases. Its predecessor, Grand Theft Auto V, has sold over 185 million copies and is the second-best-selling video game of all time, trailing only Minecraft, which has the added benefit of being playable on mobile devices. Rockstar has spent the last three years striving to improve its corporate culture and work-life balance after employees complained of burnout while working on its most recent game, Red Dead Redemption 2, in 2018.

The game is set in a fictional version of Miami and features two protagonists, a man and a woman, as Bloomberg News has reported. Take-Two is scheduled to report earnings on Wednesday.
