Bandai Namco Entertainment has released a new trailer and 13-minute gameplay video for Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero. Spike Chunsoft is developing the upcoming multiplayer 3D anime game, which is the latest addition to the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi series. While no release date has been set, the gameplay video offers a first look at the characters, combat styles, and other aspects of the game. Along with the exciting videos, eleven new playable characters have been revealed.
The video, which was released earlier today, shows a glimpse of the multiplayer combat that players will be able to access in the game. In the video, longtime rivals Goku and Vegeta can be seen fighting. Towards the end of the battle, both assume their Super Saiyan God forms.
Speaking about the upcoming game, producer Jun Furutani says that because of Sparking! Zero is “a genuine sequel and evolution of the series,” the goal is “to preserve the essence of what made the Budokai Tenkaichi series so popular.”
As the development team works to create a worthy sequel to the previous game, Furutani admitted that new gameplay mechanics have been added. He explained that this was done to “better express the high-speed and authentic battles unique to the Dragon Ball action.”
