Creators of Pokemon Go and Fold create a game for earning Bitcoin

Developers of Pokemon Go and Fold announced a brand new game called Fold AR where players can earn bitcoin. Here’s what you need to know.

New game alert: Like Pokemon Go, but with Bitcoins

Niantic, the developer behind Pokemon Go and Fold, a cryptocurrency debit card firm partnered to make a brand new game. According to Fold, the game is a part of the metaverse and will look similar to Pokemon Go. However, the game is based on cryptocurrency instead of Pokemons. Users can earn bitcoin as they play.

With the game, the creators are going to try forging “an alternative vision for the metaverse— one that promotes human freedom and happiness through bitcoin and fun. We have begun rolling out a limited beta of the experience today within Fold App”. The experience is an addition to the Fold App that rewards users for using their Fold card for payments. While everyone can play the game and earn crypto, Fold cardholders can get extra rewards.

How can you earn Bitcoin by playing a game?

Playing the game is very similar to Pokemon Go. The game is found in the Fold app under its ‘Play’ tab. Once you log in, you can find blocks, tap them and earn rewards in Bitcoins. Every ten minutes, a new block appears somewhere close to you, and opening it triggers a reward explosion. Users are rewarded with satoshis, extra spins for rewards on the Fold card, orange pills that save you from harmful explosions and, time extensions. Satoshis are the smallest unit of the bitcoin. However, players have to beware of shitcoins and poison pills as they threaten the crypto you earn.

“The complete experience will drop next year and will enable individuals to find, trade, and hide bitcoin and other rewards throughout the world IRL, and will also give merchants the ability to engage the community with incentives and offers. It all started with someone saying ‘let’s make PokemonGo but for bitcoin’ and ended with ‘let’s build a new way to exchange and share bitcoin with others.,” stated the firm. “We believe bitcoin is just a game. And, there are millions of people around the world already playing this game every day, working to acquire bitcoin through mining, trading, shilling, and earning in pursuit of financial freedom,” they added.
