David Letterman’s famous talk show on Netflix, ‘My Next Guest Needs No Introduction’ premiered its season 4 on May 20. The first guest of the season was Will Smith. Will Smith’s interview was just presented as part of the series, with the notation “Filmed before Oscars”. The show began with a clip informing viewers that, “this episode was filmed prior to the 2022 Academy Awards ceremony.”
Will discussed his memoir in the My Next Guest Needs No Introduction interview. He confessed that he has always considered himself a “coward” because of a tragic incident when he was nine. Smith admitted that he saw his mom suffer domestic abuse from his father.
“Life is so exciting to me right now because I can reach people differently than I’ve ever been able to reach people, largely because of my pain,” he said.

He continued, “when I showed up, I wanted people to feel good and be happy. Because I found that when my household was that way, I felt safe. He then mentioned that he once had a vision of “my whole life getting destroyed,” after consuming Ayahuasca. “When I came out of it, I realized that anything that happens in my life, I can handle it. I can handle any person I lose. I can handle anything that goes wrong in my life. I can handle anything in my marriage,” Smith shared.
Will Smith made news earlier this year after his slap fiasco. He rushed to the Oscars stage and slapped the host Chris Rock. This happened after the comedian made a joke about his wife, actress Jada Pinkett Smith. Later in the evening, the actor went to the Oscar stage to collect his trophy for King Richard. He later withdrew from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences after apologizing for his acts. Subsequently, Will faced a ban. It will not allow him to be a part of Oscar celebrations as well as other Academy gatherings for the next 10 years.
