Celebrity actor Tom Cruise posted a video on Twitter from the South African set of “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning” in which he greeted his fans with happy holidays and thanked them for their support of his previous movie, “Top Gun: Maverick.” He wished everyone a good holiday before jumping out of the plane to demonstrate his skydiving prowess.
“Hey everyone, Here we are over stunning South Africa, where we’re filming Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning parts one and two. And I didn’t want the year to end without thanking you all for coming out to the theatres and thank you for supporting ‘Top Gun: Maverick’.” Cruise said in the video.
The director of “Dead Reckoning,” Christopher McQuarrie, who also wrote the screenplay for “Top Gun: Maverick,” interjected the actor and jokingly advised him to keep it brief. “Listen, we really gotta roll, we gotta get the shot,” McQuarrie said.
“Where was I?” Cruise asked while free-falling. “Oh yeah. Thank you for supporting Top Gun: Maverick, and thank you for allowing us to entertain you. It truly is the honor of a lifetime.”
“I’m running out of altitude, so I have to get back to work. We have to get this shot. You have a very safe and happy holiday, we’ll see you at the movies,” Cruise concluded.

A video purportedly showing Cruise doing a stunt for the upcoming “Mission Impossible” movie while perched atop a World War II-era biplane went viral in September.
“Hi everyone! Wish I could be there with you, I’m sorry for all the extra noise,” Cruise said in the video, which was shown at CinemaCon in April. “As you can see, we are filming the latest installment of Mission: Impossible, and right now we are over gorgeous Blyde Canyon in stunning South Africa.”
In the meanwhile, in October, it was suggested that Cruise would be launched into space to do a spacewalk for a future movie directed by Doug Liman. The 60-year-old Hollywood actor may soon be making history at the International Space Station if everything goes according to plan.
The seventh installment of the series, “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One,” will debut in July 2023.
