Marvel Actor, 17, Speaks Out About Family Trauma and Survival
In a deeply personal and shocking revelation, Jack Veal, the young actor known for his role as Kid Loki in the Marvel series, has publicly shared his current homeless status, shedding light on a complex family dispute that has left him without a stable home.
A cry for help and understanding
The 17-year-old rising star had been living in a camper van in Dartford, Kent, for the past two weeks, navigating a challenging period of his life marked by family conflict and personal struggles.
“I can’t go home. I can’t go to my parents. I’ve been living rough for weeks, sofa surfing, camping by the canal, and then staying with my grandparents, but I can’t stay there,” Veal candidly revealed.
Veal has been open about his mental health challenges, disclosing that he “suffers from mental health issues, like autism and ADHD” and is currently being screened for bipolar disorder and psychosis.
“I don’t want revenge against my mum and dad, but I want the system to help me; I just can’t go back there after what’s happened between them and me,” he told MailOnline.
Born in 2007 to Donna and biological father Robert Pembroke, Veal’s family structure changed when his parents split and his mother’s new partner, Steven Veal, adopted him. This complex family background appears to be at the heart of his current situation.
A promising acting career
Despite his challenges, Veal has already established an impressive acting portfolio. He made his first on-screen appearance at age 10 in “My Name Is Lenny” and has since starred in numerous acclaimed shows, including “Loki,” “The Peripheral,” “Tin Star,” “Come Away,” “The Corrupted,” and “Call the Midwife.”
Veal candidly shared insights into his past challenges: “This all started when I was ten years old; just as I was breaking into acting, my dad had a go at me, but like I said, that slowed down as I got older.”
He also addressed previous substance abuse issues: “I was kicked out of home and I then abused drugs like spice and alcohol, but I’m clean now; I don’t do anything now, but it started after I appeared in Loki.”

However, his desperate plea for help has now been answered. “I finally got the placement, and it’s amazing,” he said on TikTok, appearing teary-eyed as he thanked fans for helping him find an emergency placement. “It’s been wild, so wild, but thank you all very much.”
Jack Veal is no longer homeless. The teenager gave a major update in an emotional video, following days of hardship and distress. Veal, popular as ‘Kid Loki’ from the Marvel Studios series ‘Loki’, first reached out to his followers for help on December 1. In a distressing video, he revealed that he was homeless and sleeping on the streets at the age of 17.
