New Orleans, LA — President Donald Trump took to social media Sunday night to mock Taylor Swift after the pop superstar was booed by Philadelphia Eagles fans at Super Bowl LIX.
“The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Swift faces jeers while Trump gets applause
Swift, 35, who attended the game at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans to support her boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, appeared on the Jumbotron as the game began—only to be met with loud boos from the Eagles’ die-hard fan base. She reacted with a subtle double-take before smiling.
Meanwhile, Trump, 78, received a far different reception. When he was briefly shown on the big screen during Jon Batiste’s National Anthem performance, the stadium erupted with applause and cheers.
Trump had initially predicted a Chiefs victory but left the stadium early as the team struggled against the Eagles, who led 24-0 by halftime. Before departing, he took another jab at Swift by reposting a comparison video on Truth Social. The clip, originally shared by the conservative account Libs of TikTok, juxtaposed Trump’s warm reception with Swift’s boos.
“Trump gets massive cheers at the Super Bowl while Taylor Swift gets booed. The world is healing!” the caption read.
Super Bowl attendance makes history
Sunday’s game marked a historic moment as Trump became the first sitting president to attend a Super Bowl. Swift, on the other hand, was making a return appearance, having cheered on Kelce and the Chiefs in last year’s win over the San Francisco 49ers.
Speculation had been swirling that Kelce would propose to Swift at this year’s Super Bowl, but no such moment occurred—whether due to the Chiefs’ crushing 40-22 loss or the rumors being unfounded.
Trump’s past tensions with Swift and the Eagles
Trump and Swift have had a one-sided feud for years, with the president frequently taking jabs at the singer, particularly after she endorsed former Vice President Kamala Harris in September.
“I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” Trump ranted on Truth Social at the time, following her public support for his Democratic opponent.
Meanwhile, his history with the Eagles has been similarly contentious. After their 2018 Super Bowl victory, the team declined an invitation to the White House, fueling tensions between Trump and the franchise.
Despite his disdain for Swift, Trump has been vocal in his admiration for Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, whose wife and family members have publicly supported his MAGA movement. Before kickoff, Trump was spotted taking photos with Mahomes’ relatives at the stadium.
As Super Bowl LIX wrapped up, it was a tough night for both the Chiefs and Swift—though, as always, Trump made sure to have the last word.
