
Jo Mersa Marley, a Jamaican singer and the iconic reggae artist Bob Marley’s grandson, has passed away at the age of 31. His spokesman told the media that the information was true. Although the exact cause of death is unknown at this time, South Florida radio station WZPP reported that he passed away from asthma. He was reportedly discovered dead inside his car.
Jo Mersa Marley was born in Kingston, Jamaica, on March 12, 1991. He went to Florida after spending a large portion of his youth there, where he attended Palmetto High School and pursued a degree in audio engineering at Miami Dade College. With the EP “Comfortable,” he debuted as an artist in the music industry in 2014.
Stephen Marley, a Jamaican-American musician, and Bob Marley’s son is a well-known Reggae performer.
Following the tragic news, several well-known people and Marley’s followers sent their sympathies and tributes. Mark J. Golding, a politician from Jamaica, tweeted: “I’ve just learned of the tragic loss of Joseph “Jo Mersa” Marley. A talented young reggae artiste, son of Stephen Marley & grandson of Bob Marley at only 31 yrs old. The loss of a child is a devastating blow no parent should face, my condolences to Stephen & the entire family.”
