The Crown, Netflix’s acclaimed royal drama, is looking for an actor to play Prince Harry. And if you resemble him, or a younger version of him, you could join the cast of this critically acclaimed show. And you don’t even need any previous acting experience. The Crown is searching for an “exceptional” young actor to play Prince Harry
The ad reads: “Robert Sterne, Casting Director of the Netflix series The Crown, is searching for an exceptional young actor to play Prince Harry in the next series. It is a significant role in this award-winning drama and we are looking for a strong physical resemblance. Please see the photographs for reference. Shooting will commence November 2022 in the UK.”
“We are very experienced in providing a great deal of support for the young actors and their families through what they find is a uniquely rewarding creating process,” further added the ad copy.
The show, created by Peter Morgan, follows the reign of the recently deceased United Kingdom monarch Queen Elizabeth II from her coronation to the present – presumably including her death.
Season 4 covered the Margaret Thatcher government’s reign from 1979 to 1990.
Imelda Staunton will play the Queen in both seasons 5 and 6
On the evening of September 8, Queen Elizabeth II died at Balmoral Castle. Doctors had expressed concerns about her health earlier that day and had placed her under medical supervision. Her rule lasted 70 years.
Morgan had stated that he would halt filming of the show out of respect for her.
“The Crown is a love letter to her and I’ve nothing to add, for now, just silence and respect. I expect we will stop filming out of respect too,” he had said.
Claire Foy played the role for the first two seasons, winning two Emmys for her work. Olivia Colman, an Oscar winner, took over in seasons 3 and 4, and she also won an Emmy. Imelda Staunton will play the role in both seasons 5 and 6.
