Stranger Things actor Noah Schnapp comes out as gay

The Stranger Things actor Noah Schnapp, who is most known for playing Will Byers, has come out as gay.

The actor said in a video he uploaded on his TikTok account, “When I finally told my friends and family I was gay after being scared in the closet for 18 years and all they said was we know.” He added in his comment, making reference to his Will Byers character from the popular Netflix series: “I guess I’m more similar to Will than I thought.” The actor can be seen lip-syncing to an audio clip in the video and stating, “You know what it never was? That serious. It was never that serious. Quite frankly, will never be that serious.”

In a July interview with Variety, Noah Schnapp discussed the sexual orientation of his Stranger Things character Will and said that Will had romantic affection for his closest buddy Mike (Finn Wolfhard). “Now that he’s gotten older, they made it a very real, obvious thing. Now it’s 100% clear that he is gay and he does love Mike,” he told Variety.

Noah Schnapp is most known for his role in Stranger Things. He has also appeared in a few movies, including Steven Spielberg’s historical thriller Bridge of Spies (2015) and the animation The Peanuts Movie the same year. Millie Bobby Brown, Winona Ryder, and David Harbour are among the stars of the blockbuster hit Netflix series Stranger Things. The 4th season debuted in July of last year after the first season aired in July 2016.
