Sean Penn and Leila George have decided to separate their ways after 2 years of being married. According to reports, a court-approved the paperwork. In October, George filed for divorce from the actor in a Los Angeles, California court.
Penn acknowledged on ‘Late Night With Seth Meyers’ that the two had a “COVID wedding“. “By that, I mean it was a county commissioner on Zoom and we were at the house, my two children and her brother, and we did it that way,” Penn explained, at the time.

Speaking to Hollywood Authentic about their broken marriage, Penn claimed his role in the breakdown. “We were married technically for one year, but for five years. I was a very neglectful guy. I was not a f–king cheat or any of that obvious s–t; but I allowed myself to think that my place in so many other things was so important. And that included my place in being totally depressed and driven to alcohol and Ambien at 11 o’clock in the morning; by watching the news, by watching the [President] Trump era, by watching it and just despairing,” he said.

The actor has been in Ukraine for several months recording a documentary about the country’s ongoing conflict with Russia. Despite the fact that Penn has since returned, he has stated that he intends to return to Russia. After visiting Ukraine with his nonprofit company CORE, which is delivering relief and supplies to Ukraine during the crisis with Russia.
