Satish Kaushik, a veteran Hindi cinema actor, was cremated on Thursday in Mumbai in the presence of his family, friends, and industry colleagues, including Salman Khan. The filmmaker-screenwriter died in the early hours of Thursday in Gurugram after a heart attack, and his postmortem was performed at Delhi’s Deendayal Upadhyay Hospital. He was 66 years old, and his wife and daughter survive him.
The cremation took place late on Thursday
The cremation of Kaushik was originally scheduled for 5 p.m. on Thursday. It was brought forward, probably because the mortal remains had to travel from Delhi. The last rites for the thespian could not begin until after 6:00 p.m. He was cremated, according to reports, at the Hindu Smashan Bhoomi cremation in Versova, Mumbai’s Andheri West.
Numerous well-known industry figures paid their tributes
During Kaushik’s final rituals, the whole Bollywood fraternity was there. Together with Khan, Kaushik’s co-star and close friend Anupam Kher, Abhishek Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Raza Murad, Sanjay Kapoor, Boney Kapoor, Johnny Lever, Arjun Kapoor, Vikrant Massey, Tanvi Azmi, Rakesh Roshan, Shilpa Shetty, Pankaj Tripathi, Javed Akhtar, and Farhan Akhtar had arrived to pay their respects.
Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, and other actors expressed their sympathy
Numerous film industry artists flocked to social media to memorialize and grieve Kaushik’s death. Kher told the reporters before the final rites that meeting someone like Kaushik was “difficult” and that the “gap can never be filled.” Neena Gupta shared a video in which she called the tragedy “frightening” and wished Kaushik’s family and loved one’s courage.
Kaushik passed away as a result of a heart attack
Kaushik, who was in Gurugram at the time of his death, died early Thursday of a heart attack and had felt “uneasy” before dying, according to Kher. He was brought to Fortis Hospital, but by then it was too late. Significantly, Kaushik attended Javed Akhtar’s Holi celebration on Tuesday, adding to the shock and sadness of his death.
