Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot starrer ‘Red Notice’ has been a major winner for Netflix. The film records the biggest opening day in Netflix history. Rawson Marshall Thurber’s, ‘Red Notice’ made its debut this weekend on Netflix.
The film follows FBI profiler John Hartley (Johnson) as he collaborates with scheming art thief Nolan Booth (Reynolds) to seek down an even more known thief (Gadot). The actors acknowledged the fans’ love and support via social media. Reynolds posted on Instagram, saying, “Congrats to this whole team! Can’t wait for Red Notice (Taylor’s Version).” However, Johnson on the other hand shared a video.
RED NOTICE has become THE BIGGEST OPENING EVER
Sharing the video, Johnson writes, “It’s OFFICIAL as the numbers are coming in from 190 territories around the world. RED NOTICE has become THE BIGGEST OPENING EVER ~ for ANY MOVIE IN THE HISTORY OF NETFLIX!” Gal Gadot did not shy away from celebrating the success. Gadot added: “This is amazing!!!! What can I say, you guys are the best and the reason why we make these films. So grateful and excited!!! Congratulations, Netflix and to the entire @rednotice.movie team.”
Reviewing the film, NME writes: “Writer-director Rawson Marshall Thurber (Dodgeball) is clearly still in love with the movies of his youth, and he manages to fit practically all of them into one script. “A late act pop-star cameo is completely unnecessary, but so is everything else in Red Notice – and that’s sort of the whole point. Filled with an excess of everything (including, weirdly, Paul Hollywood), and clearly terrified of taking even the smallest of risks, it’s a $200million blockbuster buffet aimed at anyone and everyone.”
However, despite receiving mixed-to-negative reviews from critics, the film has been well received by fans, with a 92 percent Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes. Currently, ‘Extraction,’ starring Chris Hemsworth, is the most popular Netflix film of all time.
