Rapper B.G. of Hot Boys released from prison after 11 years

BG, an American rapper best known as one of the founding members of the Hip Hop group Hot Boys in the 1990s, has been freed from prison. A representative from Cash Money confirmed the report. On September 5, record label founder Birdman hosted an Instagram Live session in which he revealed that Baby Gangsta, also known as BG, had been released from prison and greeted him with a massive hug. Birdman brought some gifts for the New Orleans native, who appeared to be overwhelmed.

BG pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a weapon during a traffic stop in New Orleans East in 2009. In addition to the stolen car, authorities discovered three guns in a rental car lot. The rapper’s charge of delaying justice stems from his urging one of his two companions to falsely claim possession of the pistol, which he later admitted to. He was supposed to be released in April 2024.

The Jasmine Brand, a media organization, stated in August 2023 that B.G. would be released from prison shortly. According to the publication, the former member of the group Hot Boys will be going home soon. Following his release, he will be expected to fulfill his three-year “probationary period” as a condition of serving the remainder of his sentence.

BG celebrated his birthday while still in prison, anticipating his release

BG came to Instagram on September 3 to celebrate his first birthday as a free man, implying that it would be his last behind prison. He posted a video of himself with his song F*** The Game Up playing in the background. BG noted in the caption that it was his final birthday “buried alive,” after spending “12 winters and 13 summers” behind bars.

“This year I’m celebrating the whole Virgo cycle, a matter of fact, from this year forward I’m living and celebrating like every day is #MyBIRTHDAY” He added that he would not let anyone distract him from his focus, which is “to stay focused.”

“The main focus is to stay focused. I’m not letting anybody rob me of my productivity, prosperity, positivity and peace of mind. My dreams then got bigger and my vision is clearer. 13 years was more than enough time for me to change the reckless path I was on.”

BG’s real name is Christopher Dorsey

Born on September 3, 1980, BG’s real name is Christopher Dorsey. As a member of the Hot Boys, he became famous in the New Orleans rap scene with Lil Wayne, Turk, and Juvenile, creating early street hits including Neighborhood Superstars, Get It How U Live, Ride or Die, etc.

In 1999, Dorsey released his first album, Choppa City in the Ghetto. In 2001, he broke away from Cash Money to start his own record label, Chopper City Records. Bling Bling, which featured the Hot Boys and Big Tymers, is one of Dorsey’s best-known songs. It came out in 1999 on his first album.
