Private investigator Paul Barresi claims Amber Heard hired him to find ‘dirt’ on Johnny Depp

Former porn star-turned-private detective, Paul Barresi states that he was hired by Heard’s team to dig out “dirt” about Johnny Depp.

While the defamation trial ended two months ago, new information keeps on coming up every other day, and Depp and Heard continue to make the headlines. Now, Paul Barresi, a US private detective, recently stated in an interview that he was hired by Amber Heard’s team to find “bad things” about the Pirates of the Caribbean actor.

The PI sided with Depp, and said that most of the people had good things to say about Johnny and “awful and terrible things” to say about Heard.

Barresi spoke with Law and Crime Network and said, “I collected all of these historic documents on him. The home he used to live in, the places his father worked, just really great stuff. Amber hired me in the summer of July 2019. I searched on every rock, every stone, all over the world to find out bad things about Johnny and we all came empty-handed.”

He further added about his assignment, saying, “I was supposed to find instances of bad conduct, his past in accordance with what Heard alleges, to find other women who were abused by Johnny. I searched for a while. I spoke to a great many people, I knocked on doors, And I couldn’t find one person to say one deprecating thing about him.” 

“She fired us”

He continued, “She fired us. It was not until late April of 2020 that I decided to share my time as a private detective with Amber. Johnny’s father was four years younger than his mother when they got married. He was a passive man and did not like confrontation. Johnny is just like his father, from what we have heard in court. However, the father let his mom call the shots rather than arguing.”

Earlier, Paul Barresi had talked to Daily Mail and said that the actress was an “opportunist on par with everyone else.” He continued by saying that he has interviewed hundreds of the actor’s former associates. No one has said anything that is with mentioning. 

After dating for over three years, Johnny and Amber exchanged vows in a private ceremony at their Los Angeles home in 2015. Amber separated from Johnny in May 2016 and obtained a temporary restraining order against him. She said that during their relationship, Johnny had physically abused her. It was most frequently when he was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

On June 1, 2022, the defamation trial involving Depp and Heard was concluded. A Virginia judge ruled in Depp’s favor and ordered Heard to give her ex-husband a sizeable settlement.
