The Oscars 2021 were delayed because of the global pandemic. It finally took place on April 25th, Sunday. The Oscars 2021 was completely different from the years before. The show was held across two locations in Los Angeles: The Dolby Theatre and the Union Station. As always, the Academy celebrated and recognized the finest of global cinema.   1. Filmmaker Chloé Zhao scripted history at the 93rd Academy Awards by becoming the first woman of color and only the second woman in the Oscars’ history to win the best director trophy.
  2. Anthony Hopkins (83) became the oldest actor ever to win an Oscar (male or female) — beating Christopher Plummer who was 82 when he won in 2018 for Beginners.
