The Crown, the royal drama on Netflix, saw a significant increase in views following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. The Peter Morgan-produced program follows the former British monarch’s reign from the time of her coronation till the present.
According to Deadline, the show, which debuted in 2016, made it into the top 10 list of the streaming juggernaut with 17.75 million hours watched.
Claire Foy won two Emmys for her performances as the Queen in the first two seasons of the program. The character was portrayed by Oscar winner Olivia Colman for the following four seasons.
