BTS may have been on hiatus for a while, but it is still making headlines and breaking records. NASA has reportedly chosen three of the band’s songs for their upcoming lunar mission. The majority of the band’s seven members, including singer-rapper RM, are currently enlisted in the military. However, the 29-year-old musician has made history by having his solo track Moonchild included in NASA’s The Moon Tunes Playlist.
So, which BTS tracks has NASA chosen for their latest mission? Aside from RM’s solo track, Moonchild, the space agency has chosen two BTS songs with a space theme. BTS’ Mikrokosmos and 134340 will appear on the Moon Tunes Playlist.
RM is now the only solo K-pop artist whose song will be played in space during NASA’s 2024 mission. The song’s selection is being viewed as a significant cultural shift.
NASA is currently planning its next moon mission to coincide with the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11. They have created a special playlist called Moon Tunes for their upcoming voyage.
