The new The Matrix Resurrections trailer has emerged. It shows Keanu Reeves’ Neo in the real world outside of the titular false universe. The Matrix Revolutions is set 20 years after the events of its predecessor, The Matrix. Neo returns to The Matrix under the seemingly regular existence of Thomas A. Anderson, with no memory of the first trilogy or Trinity, who also has no memory of him. Neo reconnects with Morpheus and gets a red pill. Then, his mind progressively opens up to the truth underlying The Matrix. He must once again find a way to save humanity.
Carrie-Anne Moss as Trinity, Jada Pinkett Smith as Niobe, Lambert Wilson as The Merovingian, and Daniel Bernhardt as Agent Johnson return to head the cast in The Matrix Resurrections. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Morpheus, Jessica Henwick, Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Christina Ricci round out the ensemble cast of Matrix newbies. The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic hampered the production of The Matrix Resurrections. Returning co-writer/director Lana Wachowski nearly abandoned the project the cast persuaded Lana to finish it. Production would eventually wrap in late 2020, with a theatrical and HBO Max release set for December 2021.
Warner Bros. has released a new The Matrix Resurrections trailer ahead of the highly anticipated sequel’s ticket release. The video examines the similarities between the new film and the original trilogy. It also provides a fresh perspective on Neo in the real world.
Take a look at the new Matrix Resurrections trailer below:
The Matrix Resurrections’ footage of Neo in the actual world is a significant advance in the sequel’s plot. Thereby, confirming that it would explore the apocalyptic environment of machines still ruling over humanity. Previous trailers for the film have included footage of the human harvesting pods from the first Matrix. But the latest video confirms that this won’t be a flashback to Neo’s first awakening. But rather his reawakening to the truth behind The Matrix. Reeves and Moss have teased the love story at the center of the film’s plot. So, it’s safe to assume that Neo’s return to The Matrix will be motivated by his desire to bring Trinity back to the real world despite her death in The Matrix Revolutions.
The Merovingian last appeared in The Matrix Revolutions. He was holding Neo prisoner at the mysterious Mobil Avenue train station and presumably assimilated by Agent Smith. He makes his reappearance in the new The Matrix Resurrections trailer. The film shows the Merovingian in dismay, as his hair and facial hair have grown to unruly extremes. His suit appears to be in shreds, although it is only a fleeting view. On December 22, The Matrix Resurrections will release in theaters and on HBO Max. It will be putting an end to the wait for answers to all of your questions. (https://conversionwise.com)
