During his visit to the Tashkent International Film Festival in Uzbekistan, Kevin Spacey experienced a health scare. During a speech at the festival, the 64-year-old actor felt numbness in his left arm for around eight seconds. This unexpected development sparked concerns about his health, prompting medical evaluations.
Kevin Spacey shared his experience with Entertainment Weekly, stating, “I was looking at these extraordinary murals on the walls, and I suddenly felt my entire left arm go numb for about eight seconds.”
Numbness in the left arm is frequently connected with symptoms of a heart attack, which causes concern among those present.
Kevin Spacey was quickly brought to a medical facility for evaluation in response to these concerns. Medical personnel performed extensive testing and examinations.
Fortunately, the results brought some solace: he had no heart problems. Spacey was able to return to the film festival later that night, assuring the audience that his health was “normal.” This episode occurred during a difficult time in Kevin Spacey’s career.
He has been working to rehabilitate his professional life after facing legal challenges in both the United States and the United Kingdom over alleged sexual misconduct. Most notably, he was found not guilty of nine counts of sexual assault earlier this year in a UK trial in July.
Kevin Spacey and the #MeToo campaign
During the height of the #MeToo movement, Spacey faced several accusers of sexual misconduct. Anthony Rapp, a singer and actor, accused Spacey of inappropriate groping at a party in 1986. Spacey, best known for his appearances in the American Beauty and House of Cards series, rejected the charges and was held not responsible in a $40 million lawsuit stemming from the allegations in October 2022.
Kevin Spacey has a distinguished entertainment career, having received two Academy Awards, a Tony Award, two Laurence Olivier Awards, and four Screen Actors Guild Awards, as well as a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
