Kanye West fans attempt to restore his billionaire status with GoFundMe

Kanye

Some devoted fans of Kanye West have tried to raise money through since-deleted GoFundMe pages in an effort to reclaim the musician and businessman’s billionaire status. According to AllHipHop, a fundraiser called “Make Kanye West a billionaire again” had a $1 billion goal has been taken down from the platform, squashing fans’ expectations that Ye would make up for the money he lost when Adidas ended their connection with him due to his prejudiced remarks.

Forbes estimates Kanye’s net worth to be $400 million

Early this year, Forbes pegged Kanye’s net worth at $2 billion, partly as a result of his partnership with Adidas and other business initiatives in the fashion industry. With Adidas and several other brands no longer in his circle, Forbes now clocks his net worth at $400 million.

The remainder of Ye’s wealth is made up of cash, real estate, his music royalties, and a 5% ownership in ex-wife Kim Kardashian’s shapewear brand Skims.

Kanye and Gap discontinued the Yeezy Gap line in September, and Ye claimed that Gap had broken their agreement. The rapper’s social media accounts were then blocked as a result of a recent spike in his long-standing practice of posting antisemitic remarks. JP Morgan Chase and Balenciaga severed their relations with him because he refused to retract his most recent acts of antisemitism, which included apparently glorifying Adolf Hitler.

Kanye hired Camille Vasquez, the attorney who represented Johnny Depp

Kanye then recruited Camille Vasquez, the attorney who represented Johnny Depp in his victory over Amber Heard in his defamation lawsuit, to assist him in managing his corporate affairs as his empire proceeded to crumble. But less than a week later, even she fired him because he still wouldn’t apologize for his antisemitic remarks. He apparently turned up at the Skechers corporate office uninvitedly, perhaps hoping to find a new home for Yeezy.
